2024 Community Day

Everyone is invited to COMMUNITY DAY at the Texas Butterfly FestivalSaturday, October 26, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

There is so much to learn and do! Fly your way through the Monarch Migration Game, get up and close with our Reptiles, enjoy our many Arts and Crafts, Hunt the Hackberry Trail, Make Seed Bombs, and climb all over our 'Hungry Caterpillar' playscape!

Vendors and exhibits will be set up in the Visitor's Pavilion and in the gardens for all to enjoy on this special day, during the peak of butterfly season in south Texas.

Your Participation Helps Save Our Natural Treasures

Each year, the National Butterfly Center provides engaging environmental education programs to thousands of children in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Proceeds from the Texas Butterfly Festival support these high-quality, conservation programs and provide scholarships to very low income students and schools. Our FREE Community Day is just one more way in which we're "Growing Connections" between people, plants, and the Winged Wonders that make our world so colorful.

Sponsor Community Day, as a Caterpillar, Tropical Milkweed or Betony Mistflower, and your financial contribution will enhance our educational exhibits, purchase equipment and provide field trip supplies and scholarships for local children visiting the Center. If you would like to support our efforts, call 956.583.5400 today!
